Kevin began judo during college and was an active competitor throughout the Midwest.  His love for judo had him training up to 5 days a week at multiple clubs in the Chicagoland area, including Harper College Judo Club, Tomodachi and Tohkon Judo Academy. He was assistant instructor under Herb Parsons at Harper Judo Club.  While on a brief hiatus to finish college and starting a family, Kevin returned to the mat with his son, Hunter at his side.  Since then, his entire family has become immersed in the judo world. He coaches the kids' class at Tohkon Judo Academy, competes in shiai and kata, and is National level referee and Coach, with IBSA certification and training.   Kevin currently holds a 4th degree black belt.
